    Default Killer Bee

Just made this jig and decided it would be one of the first I try out this Friday. If the water is still a little stained like I thin it will be this should work really well. Be easy on me, I am new to this jig tying

Nothing wrong with that especially if new to tying. Good job!

Only thing I would ask is did you cut the tail off even? I can't tell from the pic is why I ask. If you did, next time cut the end off your tying in and not the end of the tail so it can be a more natural look. I just can't quite tell.

Mac that tie looks good and should put fish in the boat

Skip is correct it looks like you trimmed the tail after you finished the tie

I have a few tied like this and they do catch fish but they look so much better with the natural looking tail

    again nice tie sir

Thanks for the feedback guys. Yes I did cut the tail. It accidentally made it too long and trimmed it up to match the small head.

Maybe just me, but I kind of like a little longer tail than some do and I would have left it a little long rather than cut it. However like I said people tell me a good bit I make my tails too long, but that is mostly guys that like the short tail and say it's because they don't want short strikes. I find crappie have that big old mouth and if you have a good color on it will not matter as they will suck the entire thing all the way in their mouths. I hook lots of crappie almost all the way to their throats. Just experiment your self and if you get them just barely getting hooked in their lips, change color a little and see if they start to eat it all the way. I have seen that a 1000 times, when you get the right color they will eat it and you will be looking for your hemostats to help get it out.
