Did anyone order jigs with #4 sickle hooks? Trying to figure out if it's the hooks as he has stated, or he's just trying to rip everyone off!

Guys I am not sure what is going on but sounds like some get what they ordered and some don't. I just filed a dispute through paypal to get my money back. I don't want to be hard to get along with but I also would like my order or at least let me know when it might arrive. It is crappie time and I have jigs to make. Going to stick with Crazy Angler from now on.

I don't have a dog in the fight at this time but will say I have ordered several thousand sickle hooks and a decent amount of jig tying stuff from them and never had a problem. My buddy ordered 3000 #4 sickle hooks while back and had the same trouble with not getting them and no answer. He did get a hold of them and they appologized and said they were waiting to get more #4's in.

Gabepeeps - if you ordered jigs or just the hooks #4 in red or #2 and a few other sizes, everyone is having trouble getting them!!! He is just a small place and works a full time job on top of it. I ordered got all but 2 of my items which are B/O'd

Capt Hooks can be just as bad - I ordered 2500 black pearl sickles and they had them in stock but don't know why the Post office bounced the box back and forth in 3 states. Even though they put could take 2-3 weeks for your order to ship that ain't cool to me. If you have them ship them quickly, and allow phone orders!!!

A little customer service is what we're asking for. An email saying he can't get them or he's behind on orders or whatever the case may be......Just a lil heads up is all, know what I mean.

Have heard the jig hooks are in short supply and that every one is scrambling to get #4 sickles. Matzou is not shipping for some reason. Grousefly is saying that they haven't been shipping since last October. I had extras that I helped a guy out that pours commercial. As for Grandpa Bob sounds like he has a small operation that is having growing pains and he needs to do better customer service or he won't have those growing pains long. I am sure we will all get our material from who ever we bought it from.

We used Aberdeens for years before we ever heard of sickles. Some of us clung to them for a few years more before we switched. I may not like it but I can live with Aberdeens again. Some tiers still use them a tie commercial do to profit margins. Aberdeens still will catch fish.

Now time for one of my sermons.

After reading several of the threads concerning hooks and there availability. I am becoming a bit concerned. When I started to do jig and fly tying back in the 1950 I learned from a lot of old timers. The one thing that every one to a person told me that in the 1920 before the Great Depression one of the first things that dried up was the supply of fish hooks. This was even before the stock market tanked. Then again before WWII fish hooks slowly disappeared from the shelves. Then in the 1970's right before the Carter Administration we had a time where there was a shortage of hooks.

Now once again we are having a shortage of hooks. Well I for one have just restocked my supply of hooks. I am not saying that any thing is going to happen. I seems to me that maybe when fish hooks get in short supply that something is wrong. Guess that my Boy Scout training is starting to show. Be prepared that was one of the big things that I got from that program and has served me well all these years.

Guess that I would like some input from some of you in what you think might be going on. Am I getting paranoid in my old age. That might be what happens to us old Geezers.
