uv resin

I have a shipment coming in shortly from a place called The Hook & Hackle Company . The order is an uv torch or uv flashlight for 12.95 and different tubes of solarez uv epoxy for 2.95 a tube, I was always turned off of some of the uv resin because of how expensive it is but since I found the solarez I am giving it a shot and thought I would pass it along. I also just purchased from them one of there 7/8 wt classic fly rod with an unconditional lifetime warranty for 84.00 like I said thought I would pass along on what I have found.

I believe I see why this brand is cheaper, the tubes of the stuff is only 5 Grams and I know all the different ones I have bought have a lot more of the glue so seems that is why this solarez is less costly? I am pretty sure all the tubes I have are at least 1/2 Oz. and like my Loon Fly Finish is probably close to 3 Oz. and maybe 4

I got the shipment of glue and uv light. The tubes are small, but I here they can go a long way, I hope so but for 25.00 invested in this stuff if it doesnt do what I need at least I wont be out of alot of money. Skip have you ever tried the clear cure gue. There is alot of praise on that product from what I have read. Also what do you use to cure your resin. When I tye any flies or jigs I will try to report back on my take on the solarez. I have not receaved the rod yet and when I get a chance to fish with it I give a report on the rod. I just started using the fly rod pretty heavy since last fall and I am looking forward to getting my redington 5 wt on the crappies.

I have some of the Clear Cure Goo and the Loon products and use both. The Clear Cure light is a better light than the Loon, but Look was the first one I saw available and bought it and light, but when the Clear Cure Gook came out I was told the Loon light wouldn't work near as well as the Clear Cure Goo so I have that light as well, LOL! Little over kill, but I use it for a lot of things as well as the Loon. It's very cool stuff for sure.

I feel pretty sure you will like it as long as it's like the stuff I have.

I like that Solarez alot. I am tying trout flies and crappie jigs with it and I really like it so far. It is tack free which is different that my stash oif CCG. For my crappie jigs I seem to only need a little of it to secure the thread wraos and eyes to the leadhead.

I am using a Clear Cure Good light with the Solarez and it works just fine.

As far as price CCH is about 11 bucks for 10 ml which is about 10 grams so the Solarez at $3 for 5 grams/ ml is a better value.

I was using the solarez today with the uv light and the brand of the light is led whole salers and could not get a tack free finish. I have never used uv resin so I dont know could it be the product or maybe the light. Take into fact with the light I was using brand new cheap rayovak batteries that were in the house so maybe that could be the culprit. The thick did the best to where it was some what tacky and the thin waslittle tacky and the flexible was just plain out tacky. all were held under the light for 20 + seconds.

Forgot to add the basement was were I was tying and I would guess at best it is around sixty degrees down there dont know if the temp would be a factor also. Might have to give the ccg a shot.
