    Default i call it the glow bug


    i had my tying box in the trunk of the car this weekend when i went to my inlaws but didnt have any heads poured so i swung by walmart and got a few to tie let me know wat u guys think? They are all tied on 1/8 oz lucky strike triple heads. Name:  06192012188.jpg

    They look cool, try maybe some lighter ones as 1/32 and 1/64oz for bream and crappie as well. the name caught my interest i, i make a "Glow Bug" as well:
    Head and tail glows.....i make them in 1/80oz and up. Nice Job!!

    thanks icejohn, only the bodys glow on the chart. ones. i had those other pics so i added them to see wat people think. Where did you find the glow tail if u dont mind me askin? and wat kind of material is it? i use mostly kip tail but the pink and blue ones in the pics here i used a feather flower i found at hobby lobby.

    Hareline.com has about anything you need, I think it's called glow flashabou. Jannsnetcraft.com is. Another one I use.
    You might also.want to check chuckanddeb.com they are probably the most reasonable but not the variety of material.
    Check out jsflyfishing.com they have some retail hareline products.
    Keep working at it's an enjoyable hobby even better catching fish on your own jigs.

    thanks for the info icejohn.... i had been using jansnetcraft and barlows but they dont have alot of variety for there chenelle

    Check with Crazy Angler Tackle or Grandpa Bobs or Grizzly Jigs alot of us use them all for materials

    Welcome to CDC and to tying. Not bad for only tying a few months When you get some feathers that are used for tying jigs & flies you will enjoy tying more feather jigs. Most of the time feathers from craft stores will fade as the colors will run when you get them wet.
