    Default Flying Lure

Many years ago I fished with these. I thought they could stand some customizing.
Can anyone make these? I'd like to try them again.
    Thanks
    Fin

It's sort of a backward jig with the hook turned backwards and string tied to its tail.
It needs to be flat to fly And 1/4oz.

They work pretty good. I haven't seen any in years. As I remember they weren't really optimized for crappie.
If you'll make some I'll pay your asking price. I think you could find plenty interest on crappie.com.

fin - I hate to say this but even if someone made their own mold to pour these it would be illegal to sell them. It's the same as the homemade horseheads or pony heads you can make em, trade them but don't get caught selling them. It's a trade marked head.

If you ever used the really small ones they were great for crappie. I still have 10 big packs of them - and when I find the heads on sale I pick them up.

I actually meant something different. The originals seemed to be lacking in many ways. imagination, pizzazz, quality control. I cant get them anyway since they are no longer on the market. Anyway its not illegal to sale customized lures.
On Ebay you'll find hundreds of custom painted crank baits and related lures. Personally I wouldn't want the originals which may be the reason they're no where to be found .

I don't know the exact wording to modifying a patent to make it your own but I seem to remember 20 or 30%. I too have some of them from long ago and they could use some serious working to make them better. Someone that makes a better version would have a lot to offer to many anglers. Smaller sizes for crappie and pan fish, better material so it lasts longer with color variations to match water conditions, lots of things could be done tot hem to make them a serious lure once again.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.
