    Default Fluid Bed Build

Well today I finally got the adhesive that Cadman recommended and I got to work building 2 new small 2" beds.

This was my example, I did not make this one:

    Base, just a white tile

    Brass air spout 3/16th

Bottom cups, the PVC on these two is different as they screw into each other where the other just sat together

Top cups - I'll be able to swap cups out quick for changing colors

Holes drilled and brass stems inserted but not sealed yet

Stems all sealed inside and out

    completed beds

Weight on top to cure up

Here's the adhesive caulk a guy on Tackle Underground recommended - it came up a different name but it's the same stuff. Thanks for all the info!!

Only thing left is to get the mesh on the cups that another friend sent me, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!. And Saturday we're ready to rock. Since I took the 20 gallon pump back and got the 60 gallon pump - I also bought a three way air valve!!! As small as they are I SHOULD??? be able to run all three at one time as long as I don't put too much powder in them.

I'm thinking I'm gonna have to get a different adhesive for the mesh though??

Enjoy - they really don't take long you just have to have everything ready to go.

Nice beds! I looked at those for cups and was wondering if you needed to get the bottoms flat for the mesh. Still may be able to use JB weld to glue the mesh on them. Will be watching for the painted jigs

I like the way your doing this post. The pictures and descriptions are ★★★★★! I've been wanting to make one of these for some time. Having 3 colors ready at one time would be the way to go. I'm curious if it can be done. Keep me posted please.

if the three way valve will regulate the air to each cup seperatley yes that is what you need. different colors require different air flow. need to be able to regulate air to EACH cup

The mesh seems to be a key and I need ideas on this...what kind of mesh are you using? If you want to share what you are using, where can it be purchased? Thanks a lot for your super pics!

Yep I can regulate the air to three, I picked this up Thursday night on the way home

Scott - I don't know if the mesh is the key or not. There's lots of guys out there that use coffee filters, brown paper bags, vacumn cleaner bags. I have no idea what kind it is, I'd have to find out from the guy I got it from. He sent me 3 different kinds so I'm trying the light stuff. I'm not sure if he bought it or someone sent it to him? He quit using fluid beds and had this sitting around. I'll try to find out for you. If he doesn't know what kind it is - the only other place I know of where you can get pre-cut rounds for cups is TJ's tackle Welcome to TJ's Tackle
