I have recently started soldering teardrop ice jigs and had a big surprise after baking some of them that I dipped in powder paint. I used the standard CS timing and tempature for the color I used and when my egg timer went ding I looked in the toaster oven I could not believe my eyes - ALL of the jigs had melted and blades were seperated from the hooks in a goopy mess![]()
Does anyone know if there is any sort of factor I can apply to the temp recommendations to avoid this mess in the future?

You need know the melting temp for your solder and stay away from that. The problem you may also run into with baking longer is the paint will get darker.
