    From Toledo Bend Texas!

Not bad at all for a new tyer. Some do tie with their thread exposed on a chenille jig like you did, but I do not. THe only jigs I have the thread showing is a thread neck style jig.

    Yours should catch fish though.

they look good, I have been using the thin diameter monofilament clear thread that crazy sells, and it wedges down between the chenille and the head, and is not visible when I am done.

Welcome from Alabama. Those are very good for your first ties. Flat waxed nylon thread cinches down very well. I use it all the time. The silver and pink combo is a winner.

Nice ties, but the only thing you might want to try would be to shorten the tails up to prevent short strikes. You have some nice color combos, and that hook is a killer. Nice job.

Personally I think the tail length is fine and if you find the right color for them that day they will not be short striking, they will eat it and the hook will be all the way in the back of their mouths. SOme like short tails for that reason, but I have never experienced that problem and my tails are not short unless the customer tells me that is what they want, but they almost never do ask for that.
