use gold hooks as pbug said, I used very small no lead solder wire from radio shack, something like .030 inch wire or so. I bought the hottest soldering iron they had, and it works great. they also has a small tin of soldering iron tip conditioner, which is good stuff too. and I clamped the hook to the ice jig blade with a pair of 3 dollar hemostats with locking handles. then I used an old fly vise to hold the hemostats in the right position with the ice blade cup facing upward so the solder would puddle up there. my solder wire didn't have acid core, and I rubbed a little flux on the ice blade with a qtip. you must however clean the ice jigs very well tho after ward because the flux gums up the bait , and it will also rust the gold hook in time. kip

you guys got everything right, you have to use gold hooks . If you are using nickel blades make sure that you scratch the surface where you were going to Sautter I use a RadioShack soldering gun with a fine pencil tip . I believe that I posted this in the past, and I believe I send it to you. Pbug on a old post.

Here is a thread I started with instructions on how to solder and my you tube video on soldering. Hope it helps some. The key is using the gold hook.

Powder paint and cure at 325 for 15 minutes. Then I use drill bits and a thin wire to use the vinyl paint to add eyes or stripes.
