I could be mistaken as I have made that type of bend, but I would just wrap it around a nail to form a open loop with the tag end running parallel to the main, then before snipping off tag end, put a 90 degree bend in it.

My stuff is all packed up cause I can't use it right now, I had surgery last week but I'll try and help you as much as I can.

Here's a video on the Worth tool Hand Held Fishing Lure Wire Former Instructional Video - YouTube It shows how to make a closed eye Part A and an open eye Part B, The open is the part you need for forming the bottom of the beetle spin frame. One very big tip!!!!!!!!! When you make them leave the end which will close against the main frame long because you'll need to make two more bends in it.

This will at least get you started.

I just saw this thread. Look at Hagen's website, they have videos on all their wire bending tools.

Fatman - I hope you are doing well. Best, pete

I like the look of the tools, but with all the moving around of parts just for the one part of the v spinner, I'll stick to doing them by hand. Once you get the hang of it you can whip them out pretty quick.

Doing better, but the bending and twisting is keeping me from tackle making. Can't wait to get healed up.

Thanks Ship. I'm getting there but I really want to pour up a bunch of jigs before winter really sets in. It snowed some last night and there's a threat of it for the next few days. Hopefully it won't stick.

Could be worse. Denver got almost 20" of snow last night.
