Went to India in July and havnt tied a jig since I've been back. My wife started making earrings and I've helped her a little. Guys we have it good here in the U.S. I look at all my stuff for tying and all my fishing stuff. Then I remember India. The starvation and poverty. We are truly blessed even in this economy. Kiss your wife and children and thank God for all you have even if you don't have much. Hope to start tying again real soon but until then I'll keep enjoying looking at you guys stuff.

    Welcome back buddy!

Yes there are lots of countries like that and we are indeed Blessed to live here. I thank God all the time for having me born here in the USA. There is no comparison to this and any country in the world. I have been fortunate enough when I was young to travel a bit to other countries and even wen to South Africa in 1983 on business. Got to see the end off an era as apartheid change had not taken place yet. Been to Mexico, All of Central AMerica, Venezuela and even Cuba right as Castro was taking over. We had to leave there early because of fighting in the streets.

I got to witness a religious happening that happens every year in Mexico City called Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe way back in the 1950's and was amazed at what I saw. I couldn't believe it as people crawled on their hands and knees from where ever they came from to get there and some many miles. With their hands and elbows with knees bloody from wearing holes in their clothes. I had never seen anything like it and have not ever since.

So many all over the world so poor. I told you before you left to get ready to see things you wouldn't believe. Many people here in this country have no idea.

Welcome back Rev. Glad your back and safe. You are right we here in the USA are Blessed even our poor people are rich by the rest of the world's standards. Our founding fathers knew that a nation founded on God Based principals and natural law would bring its people FREEDOM and PROSPERITY. This is what is called American Exceptionalism.

No wonder that the rest of the worlds is trying to get here or that they send their children here to be educated hoping that they will get a chance to stay and live in the greatest and richest country in the world.

Being part of one of the great American melting pot minorities. I am proud of her and will not turn my back on her. For she has been very, VERY good to me.

I went to Mexico once, and not very far inside at that. I was amazed to see the houses from our side near the border on the interstate. Having been raised here I can't imagine what day to day life would be like there. Houses made of pallets and cardboard, no power or running water, no roads or infrastructure like we have here. We are blessed with prosperity like they can't imagine. There are times I grumble about things as they are, then calm down and think of how it could have been had I been born somewhere else. Glad you're back and it all went well.
