    Default Marabou grades

In my supplier catalog is explains 4 types of marabou, slelect plumes, discription says the longest select feathers heavy stem, the next is Strung Marabou, 3"1/2 -4"1/2 long their best seller, the next is Wooly Bugger Marabou dense fuzzy, the last is Mini Marabou, discribed a chickabou the smaller version. Here is my question which in ya'll's opinion, which is the right Marabou for our 1/16-1/24,1/32 jigs? Because I can't see them in my hand I could not make the right choice. Thanks Liftbite

Strung marabou is what I use 99% of the time. Easy to use and little waste. Most widely available in greatest number of colors. Understand that the mini is becoming very hard to get a hold of.

Strung Blood Marabou is the one. Chickabou is very small marabou that comes from CDL capes. Wooly Bugger Marabou is also smaller and mostly used for flies like Chickabou. There are also what is called Select which just means it's going to cost more and not strung, it can be used on jigs, but not needed. All of them can be used on flies and just cut down more so then it's better to use the smaller stuff for flies. I tear most of my marabou off the stem to tie and only will use the ones with the smallest thin stems on a jig as you get more action if you tear off the barbules off the stem. I do save all the tips for use on shorter tails and on flies.
