10lbs.=4540 grams and if the head is a true 1/16oz. which would be 1.77 grams then you should get 2,564 jigs!!!

If you Were able to use 100% of the lead! Here's an easy way to look at it. 16 1/16th make an oz. There's 16 oz in a pound. So that's 256 per pound. 10lbs = 2560

The smaller your 'ingots' the more loss you'll have, or sheets or pipe have lots of surface area that will oxidize. The smelters can re-use your slag, @ 1200* they burn out the sulpher and revert slag back to lead.

Kookie You can do at least two thousand hooks easy. Just did 1k with a pot that holds 5 pounds. Took me two days to pour and clip that many. It will take me a long time to get them all tied. Wanted to get that part of the operation out of the way before fall.

The figure that you have been given is right under ideal conditions. I have never had those ideal conditions close but no cigar. Right now I have about 80 lbs. of pure lead laying around. So don't think that I will ever run out. But I am a old Geezer anyway.
