Tonight I will be trying to tie with Bucktail and Squir. Tail for the first time so this is gonna be a trip anyone have any good advice for me before I try to tie some!

If you bind down to tight on buck-tail it will flair...

Use the hair farthest away from the base of the tail for the least flare. Also depends on where the deer was from. More northern deer have thicker hollow hair which holds heat better than southern deer. Also, tie in the tips not the whole length and then trim.

My Least favorite thing to tie is buck tail. You have to make your first wraps the are the farthest away from the head kind of loose to keep it from flaring and then get tighter as you move to the head. Squirrel, it's pretty easy to tie so shouldn't have a problem with that.
