So far I don't think they are into the neck hackle since most is somewhat short and wide, but the long thin saddle hackle for like dry flies is gone and I mean all except Denny's and he does not do the grade #1 in them since it take an extra 6 months for feeding and caring for the birds for them to get long enough. He does keep grade #2 and #3 though. The women called him so much they burned up his whole 2100 minutes on his phone. I do think they have started on the capes though even though they are shorter, still very high quality. I am just thankful Denny turned them down as that is not why he raises the birds. Denny has a wealth of knowledge since he's been tying for over 50 years and a lot of that tying commercially.

I am a bit worried they will want to get to the longer Neck Hackle (4"-6") I like though, but maybe they wont. However at this point who knows. I am also worried about the Pheasant and other colorful feathers though as they will probably find a use for them.

Have seen them going for even more and not even a whole saddle, maybe just a patch, but if they are long and thin they want them.

Difference is marabou is a byproduct and widely available. The saddles in high demand are the product. Maybe some of the "select" or wooly bugger marabou could be affected. but I doubt it.

I am mad too. Now I got to hurry up and drive to BPS and get some for my own needs. People who are tying as a business are really going to have to scramble to find what they need and will probably overpay for the feathers. They will have no choice but to pass on the additional costs to their customers. Might drive some jig tiers out of business.
