Toby try some craft fur. Alot of people dont like it, but on those smaller jigs it flows like its alive...I love it.....

Don't remember your post on here before or maybe I just missed it, but wanted to welcome you. I have used some craft fur, but mainly like the one that starts out black and ends silver or white. Like the one below.

thanks skip... i love using craft fur on my smaller thread necks like 1/80 and 1/64... Now the 1/100 thats just to small for me..

The guy that showed me this pattern using that craft fur is a guide here on Toledo Bend and has his own lodge and all. Use to be the only full time crappie guide here. He likes 1/8 Oz heads and small hooks, like a #6 or so because he fishes only brush and his customers loose too many if he uses a bigger hook. I tried this jig my self and it does indeed work well.
I have some other craft fur, but I just don't get any request for it so I hardly ever tie it. He also uses the extra select craft fur and many here would pass out over the length of his tails as he uses the full length. He does well with this.
