As a musky fisherman I am used to sharpening hooks, imo no hook is factory sharp. For small hooks I use a emery fingernail board to touch up / sharpen the hooks. You can make any hook razor sharp.

On a field test this spring, I have someone who knows, has a BIG sponcer gets jig heads by the pounds, he doesn't need me, He said the diffrence between the sickle to the standard hooks was noticed, super sharp and wasn't loosing as much fish, on the hooks I poured for him...I did use a #1 in 1/16..think too big.I will down size to #2 and #4 and go with it...can't wait till this fall to do more field testing. Love the fact that field testing yields a tasty treat!!! love throwing fish in grease!!!!!I may quit bass fishing????

eriksat1, the hooks we use might not be big enough to catch the bait you use...lol, were talking #4 and #2...its like slightly larger than bream hooks...tiny...just getting them out of the box they're so sharp they stick you when you pick them up. Like hypodermic needle.
