Talk about discouraged

I just finished an order for an old customer, but of course I am so far behind I have had it for almost 2 months. I am catching up better now, but still this one has been here for a while. Anyway just looking back for better info on colors for the last 4 jigs and went all the way back to his first email on this one and while looking for the exact color of this last one I see this...Skip use the small Gold hooks like last time and not SICKLES; #*@%$! Of course I tied them on #4 Sickle hooks so now I have to start over on this one.

Only lucky thing is another new customer that fishes the same lake wants me to pick some jigs for him and these will be perfect, but still it's very defeating.

So not only do I run off people from here that clearly don't understand my motives which have nothing to do with my jigs, I can't even get my orders right. I do have some guns and could just go shoot my self and get it over with, but then my wife and kids would be mad at me too, LOL! Even some that profess to be a friend end up not posting any more. Not sure why I keep trying at this point.

I am officially in the dumps!

Everyone overlooks Things occasionally. Dont beat yourself up over it, take a deep breath and keep on keepin on! Like you stated, the jigs wont go to waste!

Thank you I appreciate it, but goes a lot farther than just these jigs. If just these jigs I would just be peeved and get to painting the right ones to tie!

Sometimes our best is just not good enough for some people and when they take your efforts wrong they just get upset at you. No one can tell from what is typed what is really behind the words and then they make their own decisions about what you say and of course it's very rare if they get it right since they can't see or feel inside you mind.

We all vent once in a while, not a problem. For as many jigs as you tie for a side business and being one person doing it all on your own, a flubb every now and then should be understandable.

Skip the only one you have to make happy is yourself. If that means making your friends and family happy before you then so be it. Just remember you can't and don't need to please everyone.

do not feel bad skip I done 26th doesn't jelly jigs and put marabou on them when I was post to put hair I had them all finished until I looked at the order I sent a whole bunch of bad words and I wanted to shoot myself like you it left David rotten feeling in my stomach so I wound up putting them on the racks to sell off the place here, but it sure upsetting when you do make mistakes not intentionally, but we do make them so you guys us guys it, do it for a few pennies do make a lot of mistakes. I better speak for myself and I have a tough time reading Chinese sometimes I get orders that are written something like that and it makes things more frustrating and then I have to go flying. The guys on here or get them. I call if I'm lucky to get their phone number. Most of the people that order stuff don't remember to put e-mail addresses, phone numbers so we can contact them. They don't make it easy on us sometimes. So skip don't feel bad.

Thanks guys I really appreciate it. Just need to make every one count right now to be able to close the gap between when I should have had them out and when they are going out. I have been making head way, but just really hate to lose a whole day and just nothing for it in respect to catching up. Just feel it was so wasted, but I do feel better now than I did earlier. Sometimes so may tiny things just don't go well or some so small they mean nothing, but they take time away that can not be made up.

I should have caught that, no actually I keep a book with all people names in them and what they want and some times I don't put all the info I should just saving time, but I should have never left of that I was to use gold hooks for gosh sake, LOL!

Also sometimes I ball all of these these little losses up into a bigger issue. It's kind of like when on this board sometimes I do something that someone doesn't like or takes offense with and then they never believe why I did what I did and there is no way you can say anything that will convince them they are wrong. So you loose a person over a reason that doesn't exist. I feel sure you guys know what I mean, you can't type words and have people feel them as truth and then only their perspective counts and nothing you can do. It's like Catch 22 and I hope some are old enough to know what that means, LOL! I am just comparing here the feeling of loss with losing time tying when you can't afford to and nothing you can do once it's done.

Hope I am not just being confusing with these darn words and shooting one self is just a figure of speech and not something real here. You know kind of like when someone is mad at you telling them okay just shoot me; you don't really mean that.

If I was to tell you all the balls I drop from time to time we wouldn't talk fishing very much. And like you, I beat myself up over it, badly at times. Right now I'm trying to work full time, get the newer house ready to move into - and there's a bunch to still be done, and move , then get the older house ready for sale. Other than that I sit on my thumbs. I haven't posted very much, and have basically missed the spawn, but I'm making progress and it will be done soon. I'm not young enough to do this without being sore beyond belief for a while afterward, so getting behind the wheel actually has therapeutic value. I recently tied 75 maribou for someone, and they canceled before i got them done, and I was busy working on them. You do good work, and have way more to do than I could ever handle, so don't beat yourself up too bad. Things happen. Vent away any time you like, we all need to do that too. Better days ahead............
