    You should try using some chenille for the body and if you don't want chenille and just a thread neck jig, try to keep all your thread closer to the head and not going so far away from it. Try to keep your thread as even as you can and probably less thread. Let me show you what I mean, but don't pay any attention to the tail as this is hair and not feather, but still same thing as far as how to tie them.

    As said above just keep practicing and it will get better and better the more you tie.

    Yep, practice PRACTICE, PRACTICE!:p You should be fishing those jigs. They will catch fish.
