One of the big problems I have as a jig tyer is that one time you order some feathers of a color and get them and they may even stay the same for a year or longer. Then all of a sudden they change their die and all bets are off then and I have experienced that quite a few time.
I have been waiting for several months for a particular shade of FL Yellow and will have to special order it if or when they change die this time if they can make it from that die. The die they have right now it can't be done. It's not like I don't want it really bad too because it will cost me to buy 2 pounds of 4"-6" neck hackle as it's about 2 times what 3"-5" goes for, but I like the longer neck hackle for my style tails. Matter of fact I need to check back about now to see if they ran out of that last batch of die yet and see if the new stuff will do it.
I have at least 2 shades of FL Chart, FL Yellow, Silver Doc Blue and many others just from buying it at different time of from a different supplier. Same thing with some chenille like the Crystal Antron I have a few colors with more than one shade and not just a little difference either.
I will try to take a few picture to post about this subject soon.
