    Default hook questions

First, what is the advantage of a sickle hook over a regular hook?
Second, I have a do-it mold and uses the 570, or 575, will a sickle hook work as long as it has the 90 degree bend?

Down here in Ga, I dont see many jigs made with the sickle hook.
    Thanks.

In my opinion they are definitly sharper, they have a little wider gap for thier size. I don't seem to miss many fish with them. feel the point on a regular jig hook then feel a sickle. they will work in a Do-it mold, and I will never go back to regular as long as they make sickles

I also agree with the opinion that they are sharper. What I notice in the use of them is that you have to keep a pair of forceps or pliers close by cuz they hook further back in the roof of the mouth where there is more to keep a hook in, instead of the periphery of the paper mouth. I land more bigger fish rather than tear them off.

timbo you won't be sorry that you gave them a try. Was reluctant to try them but now they are about the only hook that I use. They look mean and they are and the best part they fit nicely in your Do-It molds. You can usually use the recommend size and then use one size smaller also. Try a hundred and you will end up buying a box of a thousand. You will never want to be caught short.
