All good advice so far. Whichever tool you buy, buy the best you can afford. Most of the hand tools aren't very much, and a few bucks more will get you one that will probably cause less frustration. Ship's recommendation on the bobbin is a good example. $4 for a cheap one that you will hate and cause you grief, or $8 for a better one with ceramic beads in both ends that will last about forever. Vises too. Save a few extra bucks, do your homework, and make an educated choice. Dont let a few extra dollars steer you from a good vise, you won't regret it.
