    Default Permanent Marker

Has anyone tried a Sharpie permanent marker for jig eyes instead of paint? I was mainly wondering as to the durability.. Should it be coated with a clear finish?

I've used Sharpies and have found their ink must be protected on any hard material. For soft stuff like foam that can soak the ink in protection isn't needed but will make the eyes shiny and more life-like.

I saw someone on a video just the other day using a marker for something and he did everything but put the black marker on it and said that should be done just before hitting the water because it fades pretty fast.

Thanks Skip...looks like another reason for the clear coat.
