    Looks good and that is a great idea to add material to the "Crappie Jig". Think I will give it a try!

    Thanks Len, as you can see I finally figured out how to post pics. I am using the latest version of Snow Leopard and some things are different. In the future I will be posting more pics of different types of jigs.

    they also make them in a 1/32 oz and 1/64oz they call them a perch eye i believe...This what the ice guys call them

    Right you are. Though on many of those I've seen them with gold aberdeen ring eye hooks with longer shanks rather than the sproat hook.

    ...And as coincidence would have it: I bought a mold for this very jig today from a local tackle shop.

    Those are real easy to solder up. I posted a thread in the archives on how to solder. (Be sure to use a gold hook. You cannot solder to bronze) Get the shell you want, solder it up and paint as you wish. I have made some with and also without tail material. Remember on jigs like that less is more. You really do not want a whole lot of material on the tail ...just a hint .

    Thank you for the information and I will definitely look up the " how to solder". That may be exactly what I am looking for as it will give me more versatility, thanks again.

    perch eye mold i am having 1 custom made...I think we ended up ordering 5 molds from robert. Cant wait to get it in and revamp my site and have it all running smooth
