For those of you who make your own pin mins. You might want to give these a try. Simple to tie with teeny bit of material. On this lure less is more.

I make two major types one with metal head and one with plastic bead head. These are normally tipped with waxworms or maggots. By the way they work just as good in open water as on top of the ice.

The plastic beads have to be drilled but the metal one's holes are big enough. For tails I usually use scraps of stuff. I use just enough material to give a little movement. I like the plastic beads that are slightly transparent. As the water flea itself is transparent and is a major food source during the winter.

I have been making these for 20+ years and they are my go to lure on the ice.
