    Default Beaver Zonker

StumpHunter gave me a sample of his beaver hide so I cut a zonker out of it with a razor blade. I paired it with some black bear hair LRB gave me so I don't know what to call this creation. LOL Making zonkers with it does make it easier to tie with since it is so short.

Zonkers might be the best way to use beaver if you're planning on using it in a crappie jig. Just experimenting. That's one of hunter7711's heads I used.

I think I will use the rest of it for looking at. I will put it on the wall near my tying station.

Stump sometimes you need stuff just to look at. You never know what you can get insperation from. I have alot of things around me at the tying bench just to look at. most of the time it helps and some times its a distraction. Other times I just sit outside and something will come to me. When the student is ready the teacher will appear.

BTW Scott nice tie. Be sure to tell us how it works.

That looks good Scott. I agree it is very short hair. I made a #10 trout fly out of my sample. Had not thought about cutting a zonker strip. Nice idea for short hairs.
