We use a lot of Size A Thread tying our Sauger jigs and need a better place to buy then were we get it now. Fish Hair Enterprises had it but there wooden spools are not good.
Thread jumps off it when tying .
Or does anyone have a good way to re spool from a big spool to a normal size spool ? If so I can buy it in 6 oz spools and then re spool it.
Being were tying on fish hair it takes a good thread to handle it.

Back in the good old days when I lived and fished for walleyes and tied walleye jig I used A. Now that I tie crappie jigs I still use A. Here is a link that might help Gudebrod NCP Thread - Size A (950 Yards). Have used this for along time and never disapointed. Danville use to make A but havent seen it for a while. This is just MHO. Know others have there favorite but this is mine. If you get this size spool you have to get the big size bobbin that will handle this larger spool and after the first few jigs the thread won't come off the spool.

DANVILLE THREAD 210
I use Danville Flat Waxed if they make the color I want, if not and they have it in the Flymaster Plus I will use it, but they are different for sure. I think the Flat Waxed has like 17 colors where Flymaster Plus has 25 colors. Both can be bought in 210 denier. The plus also comes in 140 denier which I have some of that too.
It all depends on what you want as I also like Ultra Thread in both 210 and 140. I am not much of a fan of Uni Thread as it's made different and especially in the smaller size breaks too easy for me. However I have some 6/0 in all these brands and even some 8/0 and 14/0, but for me, not for jigs at all.
Oh I also have some silk that I plan on trying some and use when rope dubbing, but also use mono for that a lot! The silk I have someone pointed me to it and I love it as long as I use a metered strength bobbin like a Rite bobbin which I plan on adding a few more of them just for my silk.

Try a spool of Wallyworld embroidery thread . Use a cordless drill to re spool it.
