Trying my hand at some ball heads with no collar. Everything looks great until their cooled. Then I notice a lot of heads are loose on the hook. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for the help.

No collars can be a pain sometimes. You need to give them a little extra time to cool in the mold after pouring. When taking them out grab on the sprue to get them out don't tap the mold. Once I did this I didn't have any more problems.

If you powder paint them they will tighten up (make sure you bake them)

Jsc is dead on never remove anything by the hook. I have an ultra minnow mold, which I'm not fond of anyway that will bend the freak'in head itsself if you don't let it cool or remove the head by the hook.
Thanks again for the help. I let them cool and broke them loose w/o using the hook and life is good once again. Thanks

I use a lot of heads with out collars for tying. Some of them are loose but once I put the powder paint to them they are fine. Not sure it would hurt anything if they were a little loose or sloppy.
