Has anyone here had a problem with the "Hard as Nails" topcoat. Was trying to rig up a new tackle box and pulled out a couple jigs whose heads had been coated with it, that I had fished with, and they were all kinds of fogged over. It was only the ones I had fished with though. Maybe it's b/c I didn't give 'em time to dry out properly b/f sealing 'em back up? All in all, that shouldn't be issue I would think, huh? If so....I'm switching to something else.
Also, how do yall let your jigs dry out when you're done fishing with 'em? Most of the ones, I've fished with look pretty matted.
Thanks,

I use both, if it's powder paint I use Sally's unless it's FL Yellow or Chart and then clear Vinyl and of course any think I paint with vinyl is going to get clear vinyl over it.

I use a lot of Hard As Nails with no problems. I even hand painted a few crankbaits and sealed them with two coats of it. It has been standing up well. Like Skip said, on certain colors like chartreuse, it will give your jig head a yellow tone.

Now I will say this, back almost 5 years ago when I first started I had some stick on eyes and then I coated over them with Sally's and got that fog look later. So if you using the stick on flat eyes the glue in them may be your problem, but it's not the Sally's.

i use sally hansons as well without major issues.i also use funky fingers nail polish sometimes to paint on crankbaits and jigheads.sometimes even without using any top coat.i recently painted a pins minnow to kind of touch it up and put colors on it i know fish will kill in my favorite lake.bright orange on the bottom, and some bright chartreuse dots goin down the sides.didn't use any clear top coat over it,and the results were good lol.got a few lmb on it and the nail polish doesn't seem to be wearing off at all.i love nail polish :D
Nail polish is really a great help with lots of things. I don't use it as much as I could, but enough for sure. Hols up well and most fly tyers use sally's for theri heads cement. I know it sure helps as a clear over coat.

I always used 2 part epoxy, the only time I ever used SH was in fly tying.
