you mean the push button closed type of reels?used to use one them when i was little.i think i have one but i don't like fishing with it.its kind of annoying.could be that its a cheap reel not built well,or wrong line on it tho.i use spinning reels all the time usually.

PBug I have a spincast set up,got it from Contenti in Rhode Island.I like it just fine but you better be real searious before you invest because there is lots of hidden cost that go along with it,as well as space needed to run it all,if your going to run it by yourself you will only get around 5000 heads aday but with two more helping you can push 14000 a day fairly easy.

I believe what he is asking about is a centrifuge caster for jig heads. The molten lead is fed into a centrally located opening. Channels go to each individual head and it forms about 1200 heads at a time. Loading the thing with hooks takes longer than the actual casting.

A local lure manufacturer had one of these setups and several custom circular molds to go with it. His investment was heavy ( several thousand dollars ) but his sales justified his investment. I seen it in operation twice. It was impressive to say the least. Very few heads came out imperfect. I believe Ed told me he had only about a 1 % scrap rate.
