Default 25 cent tool caddy for tying station

I went to the thrift store the other day and I kept staring at this block of wood that used to hold a set of knives. It was only 25 cents and I thought it would be excellent to hold all my fly tying tools. Just an idea for some of you. I do like the layered look where I can get to the tools I need and yet stay somewhat organized.

Looks good. Also when out looking for stuff like this if you happen to see and large blocks of foam and put holes in it that would be great too.

I see the foam all the time. The thrift store is close to a florist and they get tons of it.

Ship - That tying area is wayyyyy too neat. How about I tie at your station for an hour or two ? I will have it looking awful professional ( some say messy )

No thanks will be necessary I would just consider it putting one more tyer on the straight and narrow. I mean c'mon now a lot of these real neat tie stations are showing too much of the better halves influence.:D:D

No problem. Bring Mangini and the team with you. By golly they will all be tying and I will go and run the rock for them! LOL It gets messy when I tie. The drawers are full of kip, bou, hackle, buck and all types of chenile. The other drawers are full of stuff for soldering jigs and teardrops. Then on the wall of the garage is an entire cabinet with about 22 jars of powder paint and 17 jars of vinyl. In a thrid drawer are four boxes of jig heads and other parts. Other than that there is the sound system on the wall (An old cassette radio) so I can listen to gospel or oldies music while I tie. Of I forgot, on the other side of the desk is my fishing rod rack and tackle not to mention my redworm farms.:D:D:D I try and keep stuff in the same place so I can find it easily when I need to tie. That better half of mine for 41 years keeps me going and I don't have a lot of spare time so I try and be judicious with it. GO BROWNS!!!!

Great idea, never would have thought of that one, course I don't have as much stuff as you do either LOL. Since I don't have a dedicated tying area I keep my tools, threads, hooks and amll stuff in a three tray tackle box.
