    Default Marabou

I am going to order a vise and a cearamic bobbin and some Marabou. My question is if I order 1/2 oz packs of marabou about roughly how many jigs can I get out of one pack. I was going to purchase them but didnt want to over order. Thanks

I have no idea and some will depend on how you tie too. Also depends on which marabou you buy.

You will get plenty jigs out of each pack. Be sure to post some pics of your jigs when you start tying them.

I have never tied before so this is going to be interesting to see how good or bad I make them, going to be alot of trial and error. I will really start trying to tie a bunch this winter when it gets to cold even to sauger fish in the ohio river. Thanks for the replies I was going to order 2 of the 1/2 oz packs of different colors, so now that you all answered my question I will cut it down to one pack of each and go from there. Thank You All! I will try to post some picks after I learn how to even do that, I am not that computer smart.

One 1/2 oz pack per color is plenty to start with. You might eventually reorder a couple of your favorite colors after a while, but it will take quite a bit of time to use it all up.

Crazy Angler (flatfish46 on this site) has good prices so you should check him out for chenille, paint, feathers, all kinds of stuff. Also there are other as most can't have everything that is made out there. I mean there is so much stuff available it's crazy. YOu probably can get a link from his post or the sponsor page, not totally sure.

I get jigs heads that are plated and some special heads from him also. I get my regular jig heads from Grousefly on this site. Both have good jig heads as well as several other on this site I would think. I don't know them all.

Also if Crazy Angler doesn't have something you could check out Bob Marriott's on the Internet too. They carry a huge selection of supplies and is all slanted to the fly tying customer..
