For me, this is the deadliest jig ever. I started fishing this color around 1965 and it has always been my go to color no matter where I'm living. It has probably caught more fish than all the other jigs I use combined. I added a couple of things that weren't available back the (the flash, and red hook)
any size but this is 1/16 oz #2 red sickle
fire red pp head
kelly green chenille
yellow chartruse maribou and neck hackle.
3 pieces yellow chartruse krystal flash
1 piece red krystal flash on belly.

Very Closes to my Christmas jig and I have used that color combo since the 1970's and still do. I use it more on a Roadrunner.
Always been really good and will do in most any water. I use to catch way more on this than anything and it's still a great color, but have several that in the last few years have out fished it. It's still one of my top 5 colors though.
Here is mine...

Yes, I like that color combo. Very nice! Could be called a "OLD SCHOOL" jig since you have used it in the late 60's and Skip mentioned using it from the 70's. Will have to try it.
Len mine is the same color that Blakemore has had since I started using it. Their Chartreuse is the FL Yellow shade. It will work with either I am sure, but I keep some of the shade of FL yellow I want and not everyone's is the same.
