Default Scott some other capes and saddles

I know there is a lot of things out there and a lot called close to the same, but are different. I have a bunch of picture of some of my things here to hopefully help. I have some less expensive capes that I am not even showing and some just other colors. Other than these there is strung saddle of several kinds and more different stuff.

Just to give you and anyone else that doesn't know what other kinds of things are out there. Lots more than I am showing for sure.

until you get them all used up there's going to be a shortage of lead! The nice things about feathers is that if you take care of them; they'll last a lifetime!:D:D

Thanks Skip, that's some great looking stuff! I ordered some small packs of saddle yesterday just to see what I like. For the small number of jigs I tie, that might be all I need. When I find out what I like, I might get it in larger quanities. The quality of this may suck, but I'll see. LOL

Scott you wouldn't need all the different kinds here and just showing the difference in them. A few good choices for you would be the Woolly Bugger Saddles as they as not real high and have long feathers. Another is the kind I show the 3 packs of and that is #82 Hackle Patch. So if you ever want some better than strung these would be a good choice.

The top couple are not what you want, but the other capes like the two near the bottom would also do you well. Well unless you get to tying dry flies! It can happen, LOL!

I have a lot more capes than what I show here and lots of them are pretty low cost type and most any of the lower cost one will have feathers like you can use and it's the higher priced stuff that you would not need for jigs and only if you got into fly tying.

Thanks for all the help on explaining and showing the differances in hackles Skip. That has cleared up a lot of confusion.

LOL, Yeah I stopped before I went through them all as I have a load of that stuff. BTW you mentioned the Variant and it is nice, but I bought my first time from Denny in Jan 2008 and got 4 JV Roosters and one was a Variant and it too has great looking feathers.
So check it out and I do still have all of them hardly touched, LOL!
