I -play with the sensitivity all the time and it's just hard to get it like I want it. Also trying to see or view a recording on HumViewer. I have been trying to get a picture like I see this other guy make and just can't do it. I don't know what he's using or how he's using his Huminbird, but don't see anyone else making pictures like he does.

    Thanks for the tips,

Our water when clear is not all that clear. If you can see color of a bright jig 3'-4' down, it's clear, LOL! I can sometimes find them in the spring really shallow, like 2' or so and sort of flip a Roadrunner out to the bank and just drag it along as I move down the bank. I just keep about 14'-15' pf line out and almost like a fly rod trow it from side to side and pull as the TM takes you slowly down the bank. If you find them they will come up and get it so you can see them take it a lot of the time.

The electronics though come into play when they are deeper and your looking for brush piles of schools of fish around a lay down. It's a lot different when you can see what is really a picture of the bottom in place of what sonar use to show.

Skip, I think my son may have kept notes on where it was best to make your settingsto make gert the most out of your Humminbird. We both have the same one as yours. I've sent him an email and if he has them I will send them to you as soon as I get them.

It's a big learning curve with this unit because there is so much you can do with it. Don't forget to go to the Humminbird website and get the free download the new things they are constantly adding.

Actually as much as I love it, I curse it. There is so much and so many things that change what or how you see it, that it's just over whelming at time for a guy like me. I don't think it would be that bad for me since I have been messing with good electronics for a very long time, but I use to fish a huge amount and now I just don't near as much and each bit of time out on the lake playing with this stuff the better it gets. So not much time on the water equals not so hot at setting it up like I want or even knowing what I should be adjusting at times.

I sure hope he has that and I would really appreciate it.

Hey maybe I can trade some jigs for you to try for good info that helps me with my bird. Sounds like a good deal to me.

I understand completely. Now it's my son's turn to teach me when something new comes out. I haven't heard from him yet but will let you know when I do. I'm always checking out the jigs you post. It makes me want to try my hand at it. I figure that in the next few years I'll give tying jigs a try. However it's not necessary to send me anything. If he has the info, when I get it, I'll pass it on to you. You've helped me plenty of times already on this forum. Thanks!
