    i guess it would make it hang straight up and down. and keep constant pressure between the rod and jig

    Someone got mixed up is what I'm thinking. I've heard of 1/4-oz to 8-oz weights being used for Capps/Coleman style fishing with jigs.

    I think most of the guys I know that push jigs use a 1 Oz to 2 Oz and I know that I don't want any more than that. I can see it now using a 5 or 8 Oz. weight and catch a crappie that weighs less than the weight, LOL!

    I have never done any pushing crank baits, but darn wouldn't a 2 Oz. weight hold down most any crank bait one would use for crappie? I ask because this is something I want to try at some point.
