Default Hey Skip: Palmered and leftovers

Here you go Skip, have fun using up your hackle extras.

This is my palmered bug, figured it couldn't hurt to try them too, can't have too many weapons in the arsenal.

This is the fluffy part of the hackle that I snipped off and used for wings. Not too bad but the better hackle parts would make a stiffer and better wing. Simply snipped off a section, tied it in at both ends and voila.

This one I snipped leftovers to make the tail and stripped half of one piece for a dorsal fin. Lots of uses for it all, now you have something to do with yours Skip.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

Yes that is why I made the post, so everyone wouldn't throw away their scraps. I make stuff out of mine all the time. heck I have saved neck hackle scraps for 4 years now, LOL! Yes I have several bags of especially Chart. You can take what is left from the tip gone and my little V's cut off and still have a piece that makes a great tail.

That bottom one kind of looks like a dancer doing some kind of spin, LOL!

Oh yeah, I save my marabou tips too.

    I like them.

    :D So true!!

The jigs look good. Since I have only been tying a few months I didn't know you discarded anything! So now I know what to do with the other ends of the feathers.

If I tie something and I don't think it will catch fish I will either rip it apart or give it to someone who does. All the ones above I will fish with because they should catch fish.

Stump, you can take the scraps of every synthetic and natural materila you use including your thread and throw it in a bottle, use a pair of scisso5rs or something to chop it down to the smallest pieces oyu can and make dubbing. No reason to not save stuff unless you simply don't want to deal with it.

That is a good tip. I don't like to throw anything away if I can help it, thanks.
