Default not a crappie jig question

i know its not crappie jigs but does any one ever make walleye/saugeye jigs and how are they different other that size compared to crappie jigs?
ive been thinking about making some for one of the local lakes in my area that has saugeye in the and we all know saugeye are just as good as crappie to eat and what are some good jig combo colors for saugeye/ walleye?
    thanks Crappie Josh aka C.J.

Only difference I have heard is for walleye and sauger a lot use darker jigs imitating leeches. I don't know that you need a larger hook but this gets into preference more than need.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

I use lots of orange, black, pink, olive, copper in our lakes.
We have both Sauger and Walleye. They prefer darker colors although occasionally they go for pink or purple. Barred Rock is one of my favorite jig
    material.

The best colors for sauger this past winter for me were orange, charteuse, white combination ultra minnows fished with a 3-4 inch grubs with a stinger hook. Cloudy, rainy days were best.

I have seen no color difference out West here everything that I use for crappie pertaining to color they use for walleye the only difference is the size it will depend on how they fish it. but most of the jigs are on the lighter side mostly chartreuse .they usually top the jigs off with night crawlers.

I used to fish Lake Erie for Walleye and used 1/8 and 1/4 jigs. Darkcolors and colors that mimic nightcrawlers were great. Black, brown, or purple was great. I would always combine the dark color with chartreuse. I would fish them tipped with a portion of a live crawler.

Having said that for Lake Erie Walleye you could not beat a red hook harness tipped with a crawler.

Just as in crappie fishing the more jigs the better. Back home we used orange and chartreuse, blue and chartreuse, and also the dark purple's and bait colored. Don't count out the flashy colors cause there will be days when that's all they want.
