Skip, I've never seen you post that you shoot docks, but it looks like that rabbit would be deadly. Looks like it would fall slow. Have you (or ScottV) ever tried it?

No I've never tried shooting docks. The reservoir I mainly fish is a Corps Of Engineer"s lake so there is no privite land around it and no docks. I've watched U-Tube videos about it and I know I'd try it if I could.

Skip, I love the rabbit jig you posted. To be honest, I didn't know the difference between zonker and cross-cut until you mentioned it and I did some investigating. I'll have to play with it some. Thanks for the super-glue tip also.

Scott crosscut are strips cut across the rabbit body and zonker are cut front to back so the hair comes off each different. The crosscut it comes off to the side some and zonkers you know it lays back.

Forgot to say you could tie a zonker on the same way and make a different looking top too as that is an option.

It is probably less if you can buy the whole rabbit pre-cut than packs of strips and if you can't find them let me know. If you can use enough to buy the whole thing it's better. I have even moved on to the next kind special rabbit fur, but can't say much yet. Have had it for several months and not tied a jig yet. I hate when I do that, but it usually works it self out.

Thanks Skip, I watched a video on U-Tube where the guy explained the difference between cross-cut and regular zonker. Learned a lot after I had "Googled" rabbit zonker. LOL I found a site that had a pretty good selection. All I needed, another mail order! LOL

Have to ask Skip, what "new" rabbit fur are you talking about? Was there a new breed of rabbit captured on the last trip to the moon... ...sorry, but am interested, got any info you would like to share about this new material?

Ah Ok, first it's a bit higher and more dense and fluffy than regular rabbit and said it undulates like crazy in the water. The hair it self is a bit shorter with no guard hairs. They call it Silky Bunnybou Strips and comes from a special bread of rabbit.

I know, it sounds funny, but it's real and only 2 one foot strips to a pack.

Skip, I saw those in a fly tying catalog and wondered if there was any real difference. My 1/32 oz and under jigs all get bunny now instead of marabou. I LOVE how it looks! Vertical jigging, it wiggles like crazy...

There is a noticeable difference in the regular rabbit and the bunnybou. I got mine about 3-4 months back and still have not tied one yet, LOL!

OK when you use rabbit (for the tail) do you cut it off the hide and tie it on or do you leave it on a small piece of hide and tie that on?
