    Default More Wabbits

I have been practicing some with the zonkers. It is definately an art to getting it to look right and I've got a long way to go. These are 1/8 oz with bucktail, zonker, and marabou.

Glad to see someone else take on the rabbit. I think it's awesome material and you should get some Crosscut strips too.

    Looking good,

Wabbit is a fun material to work with, especially a pesky wabbit. Keep up the good effort. Me, I am a Kip. marabou or hackle guy. I have done a few wabbits for personal use though.

I love the way rabbit looks in the water. I've been trying to learn from AtticaFish some of his techniques for tying zonker. If I ever get half that good, I'll be satisfied. Thanks for the comments and Skip, I'll check into some crosscut strips.

Those will catch 'em! Crosscuts are great for big ugly leeches. All black with red flash gets it done.

    Your welcome,
If you use both, you would tie in the Zonker at or passed the hook point and then the crosscut and wrap with each wrap laying right next to the one before until you hit the head and then just thread warp and whip finish and done. Oh and this is one of the very few places I use super glue and I use it when both strips are wrapped in and a 3 round whip finish back at the back end where you tied it all in. So before I wrap the Crosscut I use the glue holding both strips and it never sees the light of day again, hopefully, LOL!

You can also use them by them selves and no tail or it as a short tail how ever you want o look at it. I have plenty of examples on my web site.

Hey here is one I tied a few days ago for my self and summer. Larger than usual, but I like them a bit heavier in Summer. Chartreuse being the Cross Cut and the Blue the Zonker. I do also like a jig with no Zonker and just Crosscut.

Skip, I've never seen you post that you shoot docks, but it looks like that rabbit would be deadly. Looks like it would fall slow. Have you (or ScottV) ever tried it?
