Look like fish catchers to me, I might even have to try some for trout and steelhead. Have you ever tried adding a stinger hook to them right in the end of the chenille so you get those short bites?
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

I have tried tying a trailer hook on a few before. I don't care for how it affects the action
overall. Besides I don't seem to get many " short strikes ". Seems like the bigger gills just engulf the thing.
