Took the bucktail tips and did just a little at a time.Like 1/3 ,1/3 and the final 1/3 at a time.So much easier to make them look better without droping hair all over the place.Cut about 1/2 inch above the skin and it did stay in a more stream lined profile.Did'nt flair as much.Great advice every body. Now if the picture taking got as good as the bucktail tying maybe I'de be in business, lol.Figued everybody else is going with all the weird colors and I'll just stay El Natural.

The first bass I ever SAW caught .. the gentelman was using a Black Shannon Spinner with a Strip of White Uncle Josh Pork Rind ... I could go on & on about that day .. first pretty day of spring below a mill pond dam and the people were wall to wall with mostly cane poles ... the 2 nd lure I purchased was a Black Shannon Spinner (the first was a #2 Hawiian Wiggler with a Black & White Skirt) .... I had one customer in Holt, FL that I sold Shannon Spinners to and I had to special order them for him (in late 90's) .. Some more old time bucktail lures .. Shimmy Wiggler, Dixie Wiggler, The Weasel and Paul Bunyan 66 .... those are the ones that come to mind.
Good Lookin Bucktail Spinner Bait ... I have only latley started trying the "Fluted" blades ...

If you want to check bucktail fo its flare ability take a pair of eye lash curlers and pull up about a 1/4 inch round hunk in the middle of the tail. apply the curler just like the wife does and squeese. (The curler not the wife) Some hair will stand out like spreading your fingers, thats the one you want, others won't. Makes a lot better looking lure when your done.
