Hey I just pinch it as close to the hide that I can and cut a nice size piece, maybe a little smaller than a pencil would be. Then I may try easy tapping it on the ends to get close together as I can and then cut neat and tie it on. It will take a bit of practice. I do adjust it much though and if I need to then I too go to the packer to make it better. However I would say I only need to use that one in every 8-10, something like that. Start off with easy wraps and tighten as you get more and more thread on. Maybe it will help it from twisting on the hook, but if it does just stop and twist it back in place before more wraps.
