AZ- smallmouths do hit little lures. My personal best SM 6 1/4 lb came on a 3" worm. I betcha that little crawdaddy catches more smallmouth than what your thinking.

When we used to fish Lake Erie for smallmouths. Fishing pal and me would almost arm wrestle for the smaller crayfish we seined for bait.

    Default here's the Hook,lol.

I tied my brown on the wrong side, for me.Not for the fish though,That's why the hook was hidden. So,I tried some 1/8 oz. jigheads and was looking at the "Kip Question".Found a good use for the curley ends,I think.Looks good when wet.And it's got a big hook, that won't straighten out Hays,I want a BIG smallmouith.lol.Tommy,there are a couple of these in your bag already.

AZ Nicely done. I have been working on one for our lake. Ended up with a Flo. orange tail and a color of chenille called Deluxe and palmer wound a grizzly hackle over the body. Does it work??? Like a charm. The crayfish in our lake are a little darker early not green but not brown eather. The Deluxe was just the right color.

Found a bed of bream and had a ball this morning must have caught 50 kept 20. The best part of the whole morning was a 13 inch crappie that was tight up to a tree. Dropped it down there and had fun for a minute or two. Was fishing the cypress islands and they are nothing but trees so had to keep her out of the trees and roots. Will be headed back on Thursday to see if I can do more damage.
