Default I just had to go down to my bulkhead

I just got tired of tying and had to wet my line at least. Has not been anything around my bank line yet this year. No bass and no crappie yet for me, but only gave it a few minutes maybe 2 time before today.

Then wouldn't you know it I was really thinking I was just wetting the jig for a bit and had it next to my rail system on one side and wham, something took it and ran like crazy under the rail system. Pulling drag and all and my pole was bent over really good. I guess that I had got hung up maybe last time down there, but he pulled off and when I got it back the hook was at 90 degrees from where it was supposed to be.

Not happy at that moment, but really glad to feel something pull my string. Was a pretty big fish, but not totally sure what it was and all I know is now it was fun and I am going tomorrow no matter what. Cold front just went through so should have gone for an hour or two today as I didn't finish what I was doing anyway. May not ever get a tug, but I am at least going to look at my sonar a lot to find what depth they are at for sure.

Just thought I would share that little fish story.

Thanks for sharring that story. We are just getting the ice off around here and I've got a line wet 1 time just to see the action of some new lures. My question is, why didn't you have a sickle on:D?

I did, but think it was bent before he ever got on and that is why he was able to pull off. If I had looked at my hook before that bite I may have been able to pull him out of there, but it would have been kind of iffy anyway since he was taking me around post and who know what else.

I just hate it when I don't know what some fish was that got away. I would have sent him back to the water anyway so sure would have like to see him at least.

I was just giving you a hard time. Must have been one of them #6 hooks that bend. I also hate to hook a nice fish and never get to see it.

Bartman it was a #6 hook, LOL! Also I didn't tie this jig on to go as it was already on that pole and I just kind of grabbed one that had some bright colors since our water is a bit stained.

More times than not I will pick a #4 hook, but in the spring I am use to a regular bend #6 because I sue the Roadrunners so much.

Also hey I didn't mind the hard time at all.

Ah the lure and mystery of fishing. That's what keeps us hooked and going strong.
