Working on more colors, but not on web site and don't know if they will yet. Got to say messing with them eyes is a pain, LOL! However love the color this one ended up being. So tell me what you think about this.

Looking good I have done quite a bit of playing around with these heads and I enjoy working with them. Yeah the eyes can be a pain at first but after a few dozen they aren't too bad and you get a system down that works well. I like to pull them out of my curing clamp (a clamp to keep the heads facing up instead of hanging from a rack in the toaster oven) put the eyes in then put them back in the clamp then I put a coat of Hard As Nails over them and let it dry then pull them out and either store of tie them.
Looks really great!!!
... but why is it upside down?... did it go belly-up for some reason?![]()
I am using Zap Gell and seem to get more than I need or want and about half of the ones I did so far I get the darn glue coming up around the eye and on my fingers and then of course then on the eye. I guess it will still look good in the water, but hate them looking less than clear. Just need a better way to control how much glue get in that spot and then it will be alright.
I will work out a system, but the good eyes cost a lot and then the time to put them in is getting out of hand. Using the 3D Holo Eyes. This one is Super Pearl, I think is the name.
Tried one of the Oval Pupil eyes, but the smallest is 3/16 which is a tad too big. Still got one to work, but one side looks good and the other looks not so hot with that glue film over it and that really makes me hot under the collar. The eyes end up costing more than the head even at wholesale.
Thanks guys,

I really really like it, I am going to copycat it. Eyes were a pain for me for a while. Now after it is tyed, I swipe a little hard as nails in the sockets, pick the eye up on the corner of a razor blade and press it in the socket, then cover it with hard as nails.
It ain't nuttin but luck.
Bet I could catch a big ol gar on that thing.:D
Great looking jig imo, I am envious.
I am using the Zap because I ask a fly tier that works at one of the large wholesale spots and ask what he uses and he said the Zap gel so that is what I am doing and nothing else needed if I ever can control it, LOL!
I think your way is probably easier though for sure. However I don't want anything over this eye if I can help it.

I am also trying this head and do like rtark does with the hard as nails.
