Well not really, I started fishing this lake when it opened. The years later I did some guiding here and had to leave for a good job in 1980. The wife and I always thought we would come back some day. Mid 1990's I bought a camp here we moved up here in late 1990's and the guy next door passed away and about 6 months later I bought it.

Anyway I have always fished T-Bend and Sam Rayburn and big Sam is only about 25 miles from my house, but living on the water here and it's so easy to just go down the the boat drop it down and get in a go that I don't make it over to big Sam mush at all. Been years since I was over there.

Just always loved this lake and being in and around the National Forrest is great. The lake is still a great fishery. The luck came in with my stock trading that let me buy this place. And even though it's not actually luck we are here, we are lucky to be able to live here.

Have to say I have been in somewhat really bad stuff on both. I have some sotries on this for sure and some pretty scary. One was when Big Sam Opened we took 2 jon boats and one motor with 2 of us in each boat. We headed across the lake from the South side and into the woods then still there. Make this short, when we came back out the wind had really picked up and made the waves way too much for one boat pulling the other. The front boat sank (stayed a float, but under and over. We were lucky and one boat left in site and they came over and got us in. About one hour later a guy drowned in the same spot.

We quit using small boats after that, LOL!

Anyway love both and maybe would have even bought over there, but you are not allowed a boat dock on Big Sam so that was out. For sure have fished T-Bend a lot more than Big Sam, but like it too.
