Those open mouth shad jigheads worked for me. I caught a bucket of crappie the first day I used them and several the next day including this old gal, 15 3/4 inches long and with that big ole belly I guessed her at 2.25-2.5 lbs.
1/14 oz with grey and peacock blue marabou and chromed head. Just wanted you to know, plus it gives me a chance to blow..lol

In our government-controlled schools we are taught that Lincoln was our greatest president because his war ended slavery and saved the Union. As usual, the other side of the story – the side that reflects poorly on the government – somehow gets lost. – Richard J. Maybury, The Abe Lincoln Hoax
That sure is a good one you got there1
Yes it is an egg belly. This is an unusual year here. My friends have been catching a lot of crappies in 4 to 5 feet of water. The temp is 48 degrees now but that seems cold. I am still fishing 22-26 feet but I caught a lot of them 6--7 feet deep swimming a jig . That may not be unusual in shallow lakes but when there is plenty of 30-40 feet depths around. I don't know.

rtark: And here I thought I was the only one to do something like that. Silly me!!!! I have even been known to thow the fish back and retire the jig. Thats the only way I know what really works and when. Keep sharp records of my catchs so I can go back when the conditions are the same.
