I just poured some 1/4 oz. casting spoons this morning. For this size I'll use a #1 split ring with either a 4 or 6 treble hook. The spoon I just poured is a little less than 1 1/2 inches long including the wire form. For the size you are doing a 2-4 treble with a little bigger split ring should be fine.

Most of the do it molds have recommendations listed right on the mold!!! It usually lists them in the catalouge too. BUT they are recommendations only, if you want bigger, rotating trebles or colored trebles use em!!! that's what tackle making is all about.

the casting spoons that im taliking about are Nickel Plated Casting Spoons i dont want to order them and split rings and treble hooks and then have an off ballanced spoon i was thinking of the 1.75" spoon with a #2 split ring and a #4 treble hook would that be ok or over ballanced or under balanced?

Here's a chart I use for basics of assembly on store bought spoons

Casting Spoon Hook and Split Ring Table

Like I said in my earlier post you can go up or down in sizes of hooks or split rings. Make sure you get heavy duty split rings for your spoons!!! These split rings are heavier duty than what you would use on say Pony Head jigs where it's only holding a spinner blade on.

On Janns Netcraft a Spoon size 1-1/2 inch length, 1/4 oz. Use split ring size 2 and treble hook size 6. On your example you should be fine.

    Hope this helps.
