Not bad MaryLou, but just a little tip. Get your self some double edge razor blades as that is what all the fly tiers use to cut deer hair when shaping a fly that was done by spinning deer hair. So you can use the same thing to trim the extra length after it's tied, but just be careful not to cut your thread and mess the whole thing up. I have done that too.
I keep one of that kind of blades at my reach all the time and I use it to trim what sticks out at the head.
